Madinet Masr Celebrates the 2024 Graduating Cohort of Orange Corners Egypt

Madinet Masr (EGX: MASR.CA), one of Egypt’s leading urban community developers, celebrated the graduation of the 2024 Orange Corners Egypt cohort at a dedicated event

Orange Corners Egypt, an initiative by the Kingdom of the Netherlands under the auspices of the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation, supports young Egyptian entrepreneurs in transforming ideas into scalable businesses. For the 2024 cohort, the program assisted over 130 startups and small businesses—100 across the Delta (Alexandria, Dakahlia, Beheira, Menoufia, and Kafr El Sheikh) and 30 from Upper Egypt

As a strategic partner for the second year in a row, Madinet Masr plays a vital role in amplifying the program’s impact through financial support, mentorship workshops, and sustainability-focused training. The company’s efforts align with its CSR strategy “Cultivating Communities”, aiming to empower youth with tools and knowledge that enhance employability, foster innovation, and contribute to Egypt’s inclusive growth

The event was attended by Eng. Abdallah Sallam, President and CEO of Madinet Masr; Dena Habib, Vice President of Corporate Relations at Madinet Masr; and Dalia El Nazer, Business Development Director at Outreach Egypt Consultancy for Development, the implementing partner of Orange Corners Egypt

Speaking at the event, H.E. Peter Mollema, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Egypt, highlighted
“At the heart of the partnership between the Netherlands and Egypt is a shared belief in the power of youth and entrepreneurship as engines of inclusive economic growth. Through Orange Corners, we proudly support the ambitions of young Egyptians, particularly women who are shaping innovative businesses that contribute to a sustainable and prosperous future”

Eng. Abdallah Sallam added
“We believe youth are the driving force behind inclusive and sustainable development. Innovation and entrepreneurship are at the heart of building a more competitive economy prepared for future challenges. Through our partnership with Orange Corners, we aim to empower entrepreneurs across the Delta and Upper Egypt with mentorship, training, and support to turn bold ideas into impactful startups that create jobs and drive growth”

Since its launch in Egypt in 2021, Orange Corners has supported hundreds of entrepreneurs in fields including agriculture, creative industries, waste management, and climate-smart solutions. With over 50% female participation, the program advances both Egypt Vision 2030 and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly gender equality and sustainable development. Each startup is projected to generate 2–5 jobs, contributing to more than 3,000 jobs across all cohorts
