Rock Developments Partners with Helshon College in Sweden to Launch the ACC Program in Egypt
Rock Developments has signed a cooperation protocol with Helshon College Academy in Sweden to launch the ACC educational program in Egypt — a comprehensive initiative designed to empower Egyptian youth with limited access to opportunities by enhancing their professional and personal skill
The program introduces an innovative learning model that integrates theoretical knowledge with hands-on training, aiming to equip young people with the tools to become impactful members of their communities. This collaboration reflects Rock Developments’ broader strategy to promote social responsibility and support youth development across Egypt
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Eng. Parthena Doss, Board Member at Rock Developments, and Peter Landgren, Educational Director of Helshon College Academy in Egypt, in the presence of Katja Beksir, one of the key coordinators of the ACC program, along with several senior representatives from both institutions
Eng. Parthena Doss emphasized that Rock Developments views education as a powerful catalyst for social and economic transformation. She explained that through the ACC program, which spans between six months and three years, the company seeks to nurture well-rounded individuals capable of critical thinking, creativity, and leadership
“The ACC program, inspired by the Scandinavian folk high school model, aligns perfectly with our mission to foster community-driven initiatives and create real opportunities for youth development,” Doss said. “Our partnership with Helshon College extends the program’s reach, providing access to education and training for talented young people who need it most”
Doss also noted that Rock Developments’ contribution has significantly enhanced the program’s impact by expanding its resources and enabling a greater number of beneficiaries — especially those who face barriers to education
For his part, Peter Landgren, Educational Director of Helshon College Academy in Egypt, explained that the ACC program is based on a “learning through application” methodology. It encourages students to gain practical experience while developing critical and analytical thinking. The curriculum covers essential subjects such as Arabic, English, Mathematics, History, Geography, Science, and Vocational Education — all integrated into real-world projects that connect academic knowledge with daily life
He highlighted that the program focuses on self-development, confidence building, and social responsibility, while fostering a nurturing educational environment that supports growth both academically and emotionally. “Small class sizes — capped at 16 students — are a core element of the program’s philosophy, allowing for interactive and collaborative learning,” he added
Landgren also praised the contribution of Rock Developments, noting that its support has been instrumental in providing essential educational tools and resources for financially disadvantaged students
Meanwhile, Katja Beksir, one of the program’s coordinators, underlined that ACC distinguishes itself by moving beyond conventional teaching methods. “The program gives students the freedom to express themselves and integrate their life experiences into the learning process,” she explained. “We’ve witnessed remarkable transformations — many students who were once shy now confidently speak in front of audiences. That’s the true essence of education
Beksir further described the immersive learning environment, which includes agricultural activities and interaction with animals, as a vital part of the program’s approach to breaking psychological barriers and broadening students’ horizons. From introductory sessions and teacher-student interactions to graduation moments, each stage of the program reflects meaningful personal growth and transformation
