"Decision Makers" Conference concludes its fifth edition
The fifth edition of the "Decision Makers" Conference, held under the patronage of the Ministries of Housing, Investment, and the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, concluded with strategic recommendations to strengthen Egypt's real estate sector. Among the key points were the need to encourage real estate exports and maintain financial incentives for investors, alongside consensus that the possibility of a "real estate bubble" in Egypt is unlikely due to the country's unique market dynamics
The conference gathered influential investors, experts, and real estate leaders to formulate recommendations aimed at fostering sector growth. These included extending installment plans up to 10 years to accommodate various customer segments and stabilizing interest rates and the exchange rate to reduce financing costs and offer competitive pricing. Additionally, a call was made to enhance the legislative framework to support public-private partnerships, particularly in utility management and service quality improvement
The participants underscored the importance of ongoing financial and tax incentives to ease operations for developers, streamlining construction regulations, and addressing challenges like property registration. They emphasized that clear government policies could increase investment, notably by promoting a strategy to attract foreign investments in real estate through mechanisms like dollar-based investment funds
Real estate export was highlighted as a priority, with participants suggesting a tailored strategy to attract foreign capital into Egypt’s real estate market. They also discussed boosting real estate tourism, recommending a federation for real estate developers to further support tourism initiatives, particularly in medical and hotel tourism
Key figures in attendance included Dr. Walid Abbas, Deputy Head of the New Urban Communities Authority; Engineer Ahmed Sabour of "Al Ahly Sabour"; and Engineer Abdullah Salam of "City Edge." Other notable attendees were Engineer Tarek Shokry, Dr. Amr Al-Adl, and Engineer Mohamed Al-Taher, each contributing to discussions on strategic measures to elevate the real estate sector in Egypt
